Below are a few of the many stories from my life that have included many coincidences, synchronicities and psychic happenings, in no particular order:

My first wife Nancy passed away from ovarian cancer in January of 2004. About a year before (and before she got sick) she suddenly had the urge to go out and buy paints, brushes and an easel. She wanted to try painting wildlife. After a couple of frustrating attempts, she gave up. Around the same time this happened, she also applied and was interviewed for a job as a picture framer at a local art gallery. She never got the job.

Six months after Nancy passed away I met my second wife, Deb. On our first date I asked her what hobbies she had and what she did for a living. She told me that she painted (wildlife) and that she was a picture framer at an art gallery. Right then I knew that things were going to work out for us.

Later on we also learned that both art galleries (75 miles apart) had the same number (44) for their address.

In 2006 I had a psychic reading which I found to be very impressive. In part of the reading she said my first wife Nancy (who passed away in 2004) was describing a white oval plate with scalloped edges and a ring of blue flowers on it. The psychic was getting that this was used during a celebration, and had finger cakes on it. I had no idea what she was talking about. When I told my wife Debra about this she instantly knew what it was about. When she got home she presented me a white oval plate with scalloped edges and a ring of blue flowers on it. This was used on our wedding day and had wrapped pieces of wedding cake on it.

You can hear the psychic tape of this part of the session here.

On one of my recent 45 minute walks I started to think of my Dad who passed away in 2007. I wondered if he could show me a sign he was still around. The first thing that popped into my head was a banana, as my father was always singing "Yes, we have no bananas..." I asked for a banana peel to be on the road on one of my walks. The next couple of walks I was looking all around for a banana peel but soon forgot about the silly request. Then one day, I started out on my walk and a few minutes into it a bee came out of nowhere and started to buzz around me. I hate insects with a passion and I took off my spring jacket and tried to swat it away but it kept bothering me. I suddenly ran across the road to the other side to get away from the annoying bee and about three steps later I saw before me a banana peel on the road. A few seconds later I remembered about my request and there it was before me. I would never have seen the banana peel if the bee had not chased me across to the other side of the road. Thanks Dad.

The Internet is pretty amazing for finding old friends, and even old girlfriends (with the wife's knowledge and approval, of course.) My very first girlfriend was from California. I had gotten to know her (and meet her) thanks to being in a fan club for one of my favorite bands, Sparks, starting out as pen pals in 1978, and then her visiting Canada for a week, and me also visiting her city of California for three weeks. We broke up in the summer of 1980. I was so sad that I put a personal ad in a Toronto newspaper (actually a column called "Have Your Say") asking for pen pals to write to. One of the pen pals ended up being my first wife, Nancy.

Anyway, after finding my first girlfriend on Facebook, I contacted her. When I was doing this I had to type the usual gibberish for the captcha code (you know, when you have to type in stupid letters and numbers which you can sometimes never understand...)

The captcha I had to type in was "sparkz".

I am known online for my comedy videos and stories but I have a more spiritual, serious side also. About ten years ago the first line of what was to become my poem "Salvation" came to me, although I believe it actually came to me from an unknown source. I got on the computer and more lines came to me. This certainly did not seem like my writing and some of the lines I was either confused or even embarrassed to write, but I went with the flow...

At the time I was on a music site uploading my comedy songs and with each song I uploaded I would receive several comments from other artists. Occasionally I would get a negative remark and one day I had a very nasty comment and I decided to reply to this person. However, for whatever reason, instead of writing him back a nasty email, I just sent him the Salvation poem I had recently written.

He wrote back the next day and said that the poem had really affected him and made him cry. He apologized to me for his actions. This really surprised me, as I was not expecting that kind of reaction and I then realized the power of words.

SALVATION

the foundation of spirit is beyond the light
it can be seen even in the darkness of night
feel it in your heart and see it in your soul
salvation of love is the only goal

angels may appear to you in a moment of distress
the beating heart holds all the truthfulness
remember lies are deceit and torment is pain
thunder is lightning and snow is rain

merging together and falling apart
the soul separates again from the heart
dearly departed into the skies above
all fear vanishes into final love

prayers may go unheeded or so you think
for what is a chain without a link
smiles are forthcoming to all the sad faces on earth
as time is at hand for the rebirth

On another walk I started thinking of a YouTube friend of mine, who goes by the username TrickyRicky77. He had come down to our house from Toronto a few months back
to have a reading with my wife Debra, who is psychic. I was thinking that he should call her again and have another reading, although I don't know why I was thinking that. After my walk, I got on my laptop and went to my YouTube account. I was rather shocked to see an email from Rick and he was asking if he could possibly get another reading by phone with Deb. Also around this time I had two more rather strange coincidences (or psychic connections...)

One day I started thinking that my wife had never had a teddy bear negligee or top and thought she would look nice wearing one. A few hours later I was once again on my laptop and Deb came up to me and asked me "What do you think of this?", and I looked up and she was wearing a teddy bear top that her daughter had just given her.

On another day around the same time I had taken my stepdaughter to her work. Later in the day I was thinking that she was going to phone home saying she was sick and needed to be picked up. I quickly disregarded this thought though, as she had not done that in a few months. A few hours later I was on my walk and I noticed my wife coming down the road in her car. She pulled down the window and said she was going to pick up Elyse as she called from work saying she was sick.

About three years ago I was on a music site and had many of my comedy songs there, which always made the charts. Along came another comedy artist who did not seem to like me very much, probably out of jealousy. There was a lot of bickering back and forth between a lot of people about the charts and cheating. I was also accused of chart manipulation.

One day I found out that he had many other accounts and was using these to rate his songs and get them placed higher on the charts. I decided to make a video regarding this matter, with
snapshots of the various accounts. As I was editing the video my wife Deb was in the kitchen saying "I am getting that you should not be doing this". She felt it was a warning from my first wife Nancy. Being the typical man who doesn't listen to his "wives", I started to upload the video when suddenly the computer shut off completely. This really shocked me and was further proof that maybe I shouldn't upload the video. Being thickheaded and slightly stupid, I restarted the computer and uploaded it.

Needless to say it really was not worth
doing and I regreted what I had done. This artist and myself finally apologized to each other and moved on with our stupid comedy songs...and I also learned to listen to the wife more often.

This is one of my favorite wacky stories from my life...

A couple of years ago my wife and I went to the local WalMart to get a few items, including a couple of windshield wipers for my car. We place everything in the cart (with the wiper blades in the top little basket.) As we put the items on the conveyor belt we noticed that one of the wiper blades was missing. We looked in the cart and the surrounding area, but it was nowhere to be seen. We figured it must have fallen out on the way to the check out.

As my wife paid for everything I went to get my glasses adjusted at the Optometrist department. I came out and Deb and I proceeded to leave the store and we noticed that there were two wiper blades in the basket (although Deb only paid for one.) We got to our car and I opened the trunk and we started to put everything into the car, including the two wiper blades that we both could see in the cart. I turned to grab the wiper blades but suddenly there was only one wiper blade again (and we were both a witness to this.) It seems to have once again vanished into thin air and we still have never seen it.

My late wife Nancy and I loved the Canadian rock band The Northern Pikes ("She's Not Pretty", "The Things I Do For Money", "Kiss Me, You Fool".) Around 1999 we actually got to know the band, as I was helping out their guitarist Bryan Potvin with his website. When they were recording one of their albums they let us visit the studio and we had a very nice visit for a couple of hours. We also saw them in concert in Toronto a handful of times.

They were very supportive when Nancy passed away, and Bryan dedicated the song "Snow In June" to her at a concert in Kingston, Ontario.

After I remarried, one day while I was at work I started thinking that I should get rid of all of the Pikes cd's. Not that I did not like them anymore, or that it brought any kind of bad memories... It was just something I was contemplating, with no real reason behind it.

On the way home from work that day, which was a 15 minute drive, I switched on the local radio station (although I usually prefer to listen to CD's...) and there was a Northern Pikes song playing, which of course got me thinking about what I was thinking at work. After the song was over, another Northern Pikes song came on the radio. They never play the same band twice in a row on the radio (unless it is some kind of special...which this wasn't), so needless to say, I still have all my Northern Pikes music.

I believe this next story might also be connected to Nancy...

My stepdaughter had a boyfriend who was staying over at our house. He had moved from out West and so he stayed in our guest room for about a month. One morning he came out and told Deb and I that he had experienced something very strange. He said he was laying in bed at night, fully awake, when the bed starting shaking. The digital clock also started to act up at the same time.

A little while later we found out that this person was not as good of a person as we thought he was. I think someone was trying to send him a message to get out of the house.

Many years ago a nephew of mine commited suicide and it was of course a very trying time for all family members. A few days after his passing, my late wife and I took our two sons to their weekly swimming lesson. Nancy and I were both surprised to see a new swimming instructor there who looked 90 per cent like my nephew. He was teaching a different group of children than our boys. Both of my young sons also noticed the similarity and mentioned it to us. The next week my nephew's lookalike was teaching our two sons for their lesson and that was the last time we saw this young man.

During another psychic reading I had something strange happened, but I never noticed until the next day when I played back the recording at work (listening on headphones)
I was shocked to hear someone say "Larry" right after the psychic said "you'd better have a chunk of change"... and the voice is of my late wife Nancy. Also, there was no one near our table (the rest of the tape it is all just muffled background noises...)

In 2007 my oldest son wanted Deb to try and contact his mother. He asked her a couple of questions and Deb received the messages back from Nancy. The last question he asked Deb, she struggled and struggled to get the answer but Deb said that his mother seemed to be getting very frustrated and upset, and Deb could not figure out Nancy's message.

There was a chakra wand made of amethyst on the table and it suddenly broke in half with a large snap. (I was a witness to this sound...) Deb picked up the two halves and it had broken at the point of the heart chakra. She turned to Ryan and said "She says your being sad is breaking her heart, but did she have to break my wand?"

The next day I videotaped my son as he told the story about the rod breaking. A few weeks later I played back the tape (which was taken directly from the hard drive on my camcorder...) and I was surprised to hear music in the background while he was talking, as the TV or radio were not on at the time I was taping. The music had a certain "new age" sound to it and it seemed to build and build as he talked about the experience. At one point he says the word "chakra" and right after there is a mysterious voice that repeats the word in the background. It's all a mystery...and you can watch the video here in three different formats:

When Deb and I got together it was only a few weeks and we were starting to look for a house and had already seen quite a few, but nothing that was suitable for us and our children. One day a co-worker of mine at the factory I was working at told me that she had had a very vivid dream. In the dream she told me that she saw Nancy come over to me and sit on my lap and give me a kiss and said to me that she really loved the house on Colonial Road.

I had discussed looking at a house on Colonial Road with this co-worker previously but had not seen the house yet. The next day it was time to have a tour of the house and it was perfect and we have lived here very happily for the past five years. I also know it is the kind of house that Nancy would have loved also.

My wife Debra is psychic and can sometimes hear or sense spirits around her. One day out of frustration I said to her "I wish I could hear voices!", as I have such an interest in all of this new age "stuff".

The next morning I was laying in bed after waking up and I heard a male voice say "good morning". I knew it wasn't my wife's voice or my cat...

In 2008 a psychic (Blossom Goodchild) predicted that there would be a UFO reveal on October 14th. I have always had an interest in UFO's, and although I was sceptical of this, I was still open to it. So on the night of the 13th my wife and I sat outside on our back deck, around 10pm. (She is a true believer in UFO's and I want to believe, but I am always a bit skeptical...)

We both sat in our lawn chairs gazing up at the very clear, star filled night. In my mind I was saying "show yourself to us" and as I found out later, so was Deb. After about ten minutes of nothing but stars there was an amazing large blue flash in the sky, about the size of the moon as you would see it in the sky. Something I have never seen before. It was not a plane or lightning...it was something "out of this world". I turned to my wife and said "Did you see that?", and of course, she said yes. I am still a bit of a sceptic, but that night made me more of a believer than a non-believer.

After Deb and I had come back from a psychic fair a few years back, she really sensed that my first wife was around and trying to communicate. Being sceptical as always, I asked Deb to have Nancy say something that Deb would know nothing about. After standing there for a minute or so, Deb walked over to my chest of drawers and took out a pair of silk boxers. Deb said "Nancy wants these thrown in the garbage".

My face went beat red. Those were the silk boxers that a woman friend from my work had given me as a Christmas present, and Nancy was never too pleased about that.

Being stubborn, I still wanted more proof that Nancy was around. I asked Deb what was the name of one of Nancy's bridesmaids. (For a psychic, names are sometimes very hard to get...) She struggled for a minute and then started to say "Ca...Ca...Cat..."

I finally said that was good enough for me. Her name was Cathy.

I worked at a small family owned business that made various types of plastic bags from 1993 to 2006. I never got along with the manager. I am a very easy going person but from the first day on the job it was a very strained relationship. In one of our early meetings he said to me "We don't really click, do we?" and I agreed, although I felt like saying "How do you click with an obnoxious asshole?" He did have a pleasant and friendly good side, but he was moody and I was always on edge because of that.

The job itself was okay, although the ventilation system for the machines was never very good. On an average day I would put out roughly 60,000 plastic bags for them and most of these bags had to be hand stapled in bundles of 50's and then folded into a box of 5000. Needless to say, after standing in one spot and doing this for 13 years it got very boring, but being able to listen to music with headphones on saved me from going insane. Sadly, I could not do anything about the pain in my arms, which slowly started to hurt, and in the last three years at the factory I had tendonitis in both of my arms.

In the first year of working there I used to bring in my comedy newsletters ("Grave Times") for him and his Dad to read, and they seemed to actually enjoy them. I guess I was trying to show them who I was, not that they really cared. They just wanted the bags out.

One morning the manager came out of his office with my newsletter and waved it in the air and said "What are you doing working here?". I asked myself that very same question for many years to come while working there...

Many things happened over the thirteen years I was there, but I would need to write twenty chapters to tell it all, so I will just skip to the end
of the story.

Safety was never a top priority when I worked there and one day a Health and Safety representative visited the plant and told the company they had to put guard rails up on all three machines (which had small and large rollers) They were not too happy about this, but obliged. A couple of weeks later I was in the lunch room taking my break when I heard the manager screaming for me out by the machine. He had been running the machine for my break and had taken the guard rails down earlier.

It seems he had caught his entire hand in the rollers and could not reach the controls to turn off the rollers. I ran over and turned off the machine and after the rollers stopped spinning he withdrew his hand with a large jerk and fell to the floor. I stood over him as he laid there looking up at me, with his arms raised and thanking me for coming to his rescue. It felt very strange...as I always felt like he was above me all of these years, and there he was on the floor almost in tears, praising me. I was above him at last.

Within the month I was no longer at this job and I was on Workmen's Compensation. I will always remember one of the last days I worked for this manager. And I know he will remember me the rest of his life, as he has a nice scar on his hand to remember me by...

Footnote:

While I was still employed at this factory (but on Workmen's Compensation) I went into the factory one day for some paperwork. The manager's Dad was there (the "President" of the company) and he asked me how my arms were. I told him that they were really inflamed and very sore. He said to me "You must have been born with different arms..."

(Or do you think it is perhaps because I put out millions and millions of bags for them?)
