Below
are some of the characters I have played in my
comedy videos, some a lot more than others.
I will try my best to describe their personalities and my thoughts on doing each of them. All of my videos with characters are ad libbed. I will have a basic plot for the video, but I just fly by the seat of my pants while filming. I would love to work with a script but I have a bad memory and I don't want to make it look like I am reading from a script... If you click on their name, there is a link to a YouTube video that the character stars in. Along with Phil
McCracken, Gus is my most
well known character and has appeared in over 60 videos. He actually
started out in written form writing stories in which he thought he was
an expert, but of course got almost everything wrong. He also spelled
very badly. He turned to video about three years ago and sadly has not
looked back since.
Sometimes people call Gus a "retard", but that is not what I am aiming for. Yes, he is a simple person, but he thinks mighty highly of himself and if he does not like something, they automatically "suck goat balls". He is also known for starting every video with "Hello, my name is Gus" and ending it with "Your friend, Gus", even if he had just finished insulting the viewer. He also has an aunt who used to be his uncle, but that is a long story to get into. As with Phil, some people commenting on my videos think Gus is real and will make fun of his appearance and the way he talks. I find Gus very easy to do (I heard that...) and a lot of fun to play. I would have to
say that Phil McCracken is
my most popular character. He was created in February of 2008 and in
his first video here
you will notice he has a much lower voice. As I said about ad libbing,
there was not any plan before filming, except this person's name was
Phil McCracken and he thought he played the guitar well enough to teach
others. As time went on he slowly changed into the personality he is
now, with a rather girlish voice, strange attitude and long, flowing
hair. He is not gay but I don't think he is straight or bisexual
either. He is stuck inside his house too much to find out who he really
is...
Like Gus, Phil opens and closes all of his videos with the same lines: "Hi guys" for the opening and "...and remember to rock on", which he says while attempting to do the devils horn with his fingers. Some day he will do the devil horns with grace and ease. He is the character that a lot of people seem to think is real, so he gets quite a bit of hate comments on his videos, but Phil is strong and will sometimes respond to the comments with "You just hurt my feelings!", or "You just made me cry!" He will sometimes also freeze up in videos for a minute or two, and no one knows why. I have a feeling it has something to do with the verbal abuse from living with his Mom. As much as Phil acts gentle and timid, he more than any of my characters would be the one to go psycho. As with Gus, I find Phil fun and easy to do and I especially love doing the long pauses, although I know that will disturb, annoy or bore some people, which makes it all the more fun to do! RC is a Canadian
hillbilly who I have
portrayed in about a dozen videos. He was created after I had made my
comedy cd with Eric Myers (Redneck Canadian) to help promote the songs.
He has a nagging wife and his life is pretty miserable overall, except
for his dog Asshole. My wife Deb really likes when I do this character
although he is not my favorite to play, as I have to force the comedy a
lot more than I do with Phil and Gus. It's just not as natural or fun
to do RC, but I certainly don't hate doing the character either. Phil
and Gus are just more enjoyable to do.
Lorena is my only girl
character and thank God for that. The reason I say that is not because
I don't like the character, but it takes about half an hour of work
with Deb doing my makeup and getting dressed up as her. She has
appeared in a handful of videos and I always enjoy doing her, and I
think overall she is one of my funniest characters. The story behind
her is that she used to be a man but recently had a "slight" operation,
although her womanly voice will often slip into a man's voice for a few
seconds. I guess the operation was only partially successful...
Alfredo Demento
has been in about eight
videos, usually with my wife Deb as co-star. He is a real ladies man,
or at least he believes he is. He acts like he is God's gift to women,
but sadly (in reality which he seldom visits...) he is an out and out
creep and has only bedded one woman (for about five minutes...) in his
50 years of existence. He is a fun character to do, with some videos
being funnier than others. He seems to play well off of my wife Deb,
who really enjoys being in the videos with him.
![]() Al Woodstock has been stuck in
the late 60's since 1969. He has done about a dozen videos, although
his hair color has changed from brown to red (the first wig fell
apart...) He is more of a challenge to do (my main problem is getting
his voice to be the same in all the videos...) but I think he can be
quite funny, although Deb has often said he is her least favorite
character.
Art Gallery has done some of the finest artwork, or at least that is what he believes. As with Al, I have struggled a bit with this character, trying to get his voice the same in all the videos. Like Gus, he has a problem with his mouth but other than that, I think he is a pretty unique character. In certain videos Art is in he might even have some of the funniest bits out of all of my characters. Some people think he is a takeoff on the PBS painter Bob Ross, but I did not realize I was doing him until after the first video. Thanks to Deb picking out the wig for the character...she knew I was doing Bob Ross before I did. Yes, I have so much talent I can play a
puppet! :P
This is one of the four puppets I own and Officer Sting has appeared in a couple of videos recently by himself. He is really enjoyable to do (although with the tendonitis I have in my hands, it is a PAIN to do...) He is certainly to appear in future videos. Officer Sting really likes to make everyone know he is a police officer and has complete control over everything in his life, except perhaps his wife, that is... Wayne Whitehead
has sadly only appeared in a
couple of my videos. He is actually the re-invention of the very first
character I ever did (Dr. Kent U Zeeit).
As
you
can see, he has a slight overbite. He is another spaced out,
confusing character and I am sure he will be in another video sooner
than later.
Ronald Zuccini only has one
video to his credit. The idea behind this guy was to do an older man
(with Deb's help my face looks even more wrinkled and worn out than it
is...) Ronald does nothing but sit in front of his web cam and complain, even though he says at the start of
his one and only video "I don't mean to
complain, but..." He has a thing against young
people and really likes to vent, even though he
hates to complain, of course. I want to work on
this character as I like the premise of the way he thinks.
We shall see... Lance Bunghole a new comedy
character, and so far has only made a couple of videos, but he will be
making more in the near future. I have a feeling he might become as
popular as Phil and Gus, as the feedback on his first video has been
great. Lance is not an expert in anything at all, except for plunging,
that is. He is proud of his job and will be making more commercials to
entice you to give him a call the next time your toilet is plugged up
really good.
![]() My latest
character, so I am still trying to figure out his personality. I think
he will be quite sleazy, dishonest and like a few other managers in the
business, just out to make a quick buck.
And so these are the characters
I have invented for your enjoyment and confusion,
and I hope you like at least some of them.
